ART DECO R DEAN TUBE LINED & HAND DECORATED OVOID STAFFORDSHIRE ART POTTERY VASE C.1920-30
"A striking British art pottery, art deco period, hand decorated R Dean ovoid tube lined vase. It features a typical Dean kingfisher type bird amongst branches over a pond with distinctive Lilly pad plants. Note the mystical gothic quality that characterises the best of the Dean marked/decorated pieces. Pottery is almost certainly by Thomas Forester and Sons of Staffordshire who appear to have potted most if not all factory marked Dean items. This is one of the most successful of the Dean designs and increasingly hard to find." Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.
