DERBY ENGLISH PORCELAIN 'N' PATTERN NUMBER PORCELAIN ANIMAL FIGURE 'THE STAG' C. 1790-1810
"An attractive early Derby 'N' pattern number porcelain figure of a stag, skilfully modelled in a classic reclining pose with colourful hand painted decoration. Difficult to date exactly - we estimate, between 1790 and 1810." Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.

Dimensions: height 85 mm max. width 85 mm max.
Marks: typical Derby "N" pattern number marks incised
Condition: An excellent piece in great shape for display. A nice attractive example for the collector. Condition Report: Most figures of this age and type do have some level of expected general restoration. It is sometimes quite difficult to determine all and exactly what may have been done. Viewed with a bright light and close scrutiny with a powerful magnifier: no restoration work appears to have been carried out. There are probable minor losses to the extreme tips of three antlers. Also minute rim fritting to the tips of both ears. Note for comparison, some variations exist in the size, modelling and finish found on these figures - which includes the antlers.
