References: The famous Victorian tile makers Maw and Co. began making art pottery around 1870. The early pots were a hard semi-porcelain pottery in white clay with mono-glaze decoration using the majolica glazes developed for tiles. Classical. Indian and Moorish shapes were used for decoration.
Dimensions: height 225 mm max. width 110 mm max.
Marks: as illustrated above. 'Maw & Co" impressed.
Condition: Excellent condition for display with no significant defects. Decorative fine crackle pattern of crazing to glaze. There are no chips, cracks, hairlines, staining or restoration.
