FINE PAIR OF MEISSEN STYLE PUG DOG FIGURES - GERMAN DRESDEN-MEISSEN PORCELAIN C.1885
"An adorable pair of Dresden-Meissen porcelain pug dog figures dating from the last quarter of the nineteenth century. This is a particularly desirable pair with classic Meissen style modelling and colouring which is subtle, understated and charming. Just look at those cute close up pug dog faces. Good antique pairs of pugs are very hard to find and it it is very unlikely that we will offer another pair like these again... They come with great provenance from the best china cabinet display of an English Stately home no less! An opportunity not to be missed!" Antiques Expert Hamilton Bear.

Provenance: Formerly part of the estate of Colston Bassett Hall, Nottinghamshire, England.
Dimensions: width 120 mm max. height 125 mm max.
Marks: none.
Condition: Excellent. Just one old repair to lower back leg of one pug dog figure which appears to have been restuck. This simply looks like a discoloured collar hairline around the lower back leg on the reverse view of the figures as illustrated.
